Learn how to set a profit target that can close your Forex trade automatically.

What is Take Profit?

Take Profit lets you set a profit target for a Forex trade. If the trade reaches that target, it closes automatically, even when you’re away from the platform. You can set the target before opening the trade or while it’s open, and you can still close the trade yourself at any time.

How can I set or change Take Profit?

Before opening a trade

  1. Select an asset in Forex mode and enter your trade amount.

  2. Turn on Auto close in the trading panel.

  3. Choose Amount, Percent, or Price, then enter your target in Take Profit.

  4. Review the trade and select Open Position.

The minimum allowed value appears below the Take Profit field.

For an open trade

  1. Go to Trades → Forex → Open Positions and find your trade.

  2. Select Take Profit + to add a target, or select the current Take Profit value to change it.

  3. Choose Amount, Percent, or Price, enter your target, and select Confirm.

To remove the target, select its current value, press ×, then select Confirm. The trade stays open.

Where can I see my Take Profit?

Your Take Profit target appears in the details of your open trade. After the trade closes, you can find the target you set in the trade’s details under History.

What happens when Take Profit is reached?

As the market price changes, the profit or loss on your open trade changes too. If the trade’s profit reaches the target you set, Take Profit closes the trade automatically. You don’t need to be on the platform when this happens.

For example, you set a Take Profit target of $10. When the trade reaches that profit target, it closes automatically. If you close it earlier, it closes at its current result, which may differ from your target.

To see why a trade closed, open its details in History and check Closure type. At Take Profit means the target was reached. By the trader means you closed the trade yourself.
