Flat Market Protection (FMP)

Written by Maya

Flat Market Protection helps protect your Fixed Time Trades when the market moves by only one tick between the opening and closing quotes. When the feature applies, your trade amount is returned to your account with no profit or loss.

🛡️ What is Flat Market Protection?

A flat market is a market where quotes show very little change.

With Flat Market Protection (FMP) enabled, if the opening and closing quotes of a Fixed Time Trade differ by exactly one tick, the trade closes with no profit or loss, and the trade amount is returned to your account.

📍 Flat Market Protection applies only to Fixed Time Trades (FTT). It does not apply to Flex trades.

🔢 What does “one tick” mean?

A tick is the smallest displayed change in a quote — the last digit of the quoted price.

For example:

  • Opening quote: 5.0004

  • Closing quote: 5.0003

The difference between these quotes is one tick. Even such a small quote movement can normally affect the result of an FTT. When FMP is enabled and its conditions are met, the trade amount is returned instead.

💰 When is the trade amount returned?

The trade amount is returned when all of the following conditions are met:

  • Flat Market Protection is enabled for the trade.

  • The trade is a Fixed Time Trade (FTT).

  • The opening and closing quotes differ by exactly one tick.

FMP works in both directions. If the quote moves by exactly one tick, the trade amount is returned whether the price moves in favor of or against your prediction.

The trade closes with no profit or loss.

📊 How does Flat Market Protection work?

Here is a simple example:

  • Trade amount: $50

  • Opening quote: 5.0004

  • Closing quote: 5.0003

The opening and closing quotes differ by exactly one tick.

If FMP is enabled:
The $50 trade amount is returned to your account. The trade closes with no profit or loss.

If FMP is disabled:
The trade result is determined normally based on the direction of your prediction.

⚙️ How can I enable or disable Flat Market Protection?

To enable Flat Market Protection:

  1. Open your Profile and select Settings.

  2. Select Trading platform.

  3. Turn on Flat Market Protection, then select Enable to confirm.

To disable Flat Market Protection, turn off the same switch.

You can also select Learn More to view a quick guide explaining what a flat market is and how FMP affects your trades.

⚠️ FMP must be enabled for the trade for one-tick protection to apply.

🚫 When does Flat Market Protection not apply?

Flat Market Protection does not apply when:

  • FMP is disabled.

  • The trade is not a Fixed Time Trade (FTT).

  • The opening and closing quotes are exactly the same — this is a Stand-off.

  • The opening and closing quotes differ by more than one tick.

In these cases, the trade is processed according to the standard rules that apply to its result.
